What is a Breast Uplift?
Breast Uplift, or Mastopexy is a common procedure performed to help reshape breasts, which have drooped due to ageing, weight loss, pregnancy and breastfeeding. Breast Uplift surgery can restore breasts back to their youthful, firm and perky form by removing excess skin caused by loss of elasticity.
How is Breast Uplift Performed?
There are different techniques used in in breast uplift surgery. The right surgical technique varies according to each patient and the desired outcome. The procedure involves making an incision around the areola down to the breast to remove excess skin and to reposition the nipples by moving them higher. The areolas may sometimes need to be reduced in size for a more aesthetically pleasing result.
The most common type of breast uplift is an inverted T scar, especially for reducing large breasts or those with excess breast skin. Most patients are concerned about post-operative scarring and although it will not completely disappear, the scar will gradually fade over time.
Breast Uplift with Implants
If breasts have lost volume, implants can be used to enhance them by combining a breast uplift with breast enlargement surgery. While a breast uplift helps bring breasts to a higher position, breast implants can restore their fullness. Patients tend to be very satisfied with their results as breasts will be higher, perkier and larger than they were before the surgery.
Many women choose to combine breast uplift surgery with implants to boost body confidence and to feel comfortable with the size and shape of their breasts. During a breast uplift your cup size will be reduced after the excess skin and breast tissue is removed. If there is a lack of natural breast tissue and you’d like fuller breasts, then breast implants could be the best solution for you.
Our surgeons use both MENTOR® and MOTIVA®, the leading breast implants approved by the FDA

Breast Uplift is a common procedure performed to help reshape breasts, which have drooped due to ageing, weight loss, pregnancy and breastfeeding. If you suffer from droopy breasts then a Breast Uplift is the best option to restore breasts back to their youthful, firm and perky form.
What should I expect during my consultation with the surgeon?
During your consultation with the surgeon you will discuss your expectations and potential results, giving you a chance to decide together what’s best for you and your frame. He will go through your medical history and test results with you to ensure your suitability for the procedure. After clearly explaining how a Breast Uplift is performed and what type of scarring you will have, he will physically examine you and draw detailed markings on your breasts. You will then be given information about your post-op recovery and be prepared for your surgery.
Does Breast Uplift Reduce Cup Size?
Your bra cup size will be smaller after a Breast Uplift as the excess skin and breast tissue on your breasts will be removed during this procedure. However, a Breast Uplift can be done in combination with Breast Augmentation for fuller and perkier breasts.
